“I want to say thank you to RCA and their ENTIRE STAFF,” she revealed on Instagram. “For more than half my life we have been family. It’s been an honor to be on the same contract for two decades.
I grew up with you all. So many moments that changed my life because of your belief in me… Peter, Keith, Tom Corson, Carolyn, Trevor, Theola, Russ, all of Radio all of the street teams soooooo many of you have been influential in the woman and artist I’ve become. Our contract may have ended but the love is FOREVER

including 2003’s After the Storm, her lone No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, and 2010’s Still Standing, which peaked at No. 2.
In that time, she also topped the charts with hits like “Angel of Mine,” “The Boy Is Mine” with Brandy, and “The First Night,” which all went No. 1.
This year, she saw a bit of a resurgence with the viral craze, “So Gone Challenge,” which had fans, including Chance the Rapper, freestyling over the “So Gone” instrumental. Even the muse herself went along with the challenge with a rap of her own.
Monica’s final album for RCA was Code Red, which debuted at No. 27 in December 2015.
