BHR HollyWood Reports.....Kirk Franklin to Boycott Dove Awards & Trinity Broadcasting and this is not good for the Network for editing out his message on Racial Injustice & Police Brutality.
Franklin announced in an Instagram video that he will be boycotting events affiliated with the Dove Awards, the Gospel Music Association, and the Trinity Broadcasting Network until changes are made to “protect and champion diversity.”
Gospel singer Kirk Franklin said he is “heartbroken” after remarks he made on diversity at the 50th Annual GMA Dove Awards were cut from TBN’s airing. The edited remarks called on the audience to pray for the families of Atatiana Jefferson and the officer who killed her last month in Texas.
“I asked everyone in the audience and those viewing to join me in prayer for not only Atatiana’s family, including her 8-year-old nephew who witnessed the killing, but also for the family of the police officer,” Franklin said in an Instagram video.
Remarks on Jefferson and the officer can be heard near the end of his speech at the Dove Awards.
Franklin said that he made similar remarks at last year’s Dove Awards, focusing on the killings of Philando Castile and Walter Scott — these remarks were also cut from TBN’s airing.
