Producer DJ Khaled Will Be Hosting The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards |
BET’s head of programming, Stephen Hill, made the big announcement on Snapchat, and Khaled was happy to accept the job.
“Don’t play yourself,” Khaled said. “You’ve been wanting me to host this for a long time. Congratulations, I’ll do it.”
He then confirmed his confidence with hosting the awards show by telling Hill to go ahead and book a vacation because he’s “got this.”

“Congratulations, you’re gonna have another win under your belt,” the Snapchat celebrity proudly stated.
“Matter of fact, another one… Go ahead and book your vacation, we’re good. I got this. I’m hosting the BET Hip-Hop Awards.”
In addition to securing the bag by taking on hosting duties, the DJ himself is up for nine awards, including Hustler of the Year.

Khaled also hinted that there will be plenty of surprises throughout the evening.
It’s sure to be a memorable night, and if the VMA pre-show is any indication, Khaled makes for a perfect host.
In his caption for the video conference with Hill, Khaled also revealed that he has some surprises up his sleeve.
The show will be taped Sept. 17 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, but fans will have to wait to see the televised show on Oct. 4.
