Last week Trump tweeted about Wade’s cousin Nykea Aldridge, who was shot and killed while pushing a stroller in Chicago Aug. 26.
After the tweet drew an avalanche of social media scorn for its tone-deaf rhetoric, Trump sent out another message hours later, extending his “condolences” to Wade and his family:Dwyane Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Wade, a vocal advocate against gun violence, said of his hometown that he wanted “eyes on the city.” “I want us to be able to do more together and the only way we can do more together is for people to know what’s going on,” the Chicago Bulls player said.My condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family, on the loss of Nykea Aldridge.
