BHR Hollywood Reports......Ed Sheeran is being accused by the Marvin Gaye Estate of Taking Out the melody, harmony, and rhythm compositions from "Let's Get It On" for his smash hit, "Thinking Out Loud."

Ed Townsend and Gaye co-wrote the song. Both are deceased , and Townsend's heirs are now suing Sheeran.

Sheeran's been accused of similar tactics in the past. He was sued back in June for allegedly ripping off chunks of another songwriter's work for his song, "Photograph."

The lawsuit comes amid a flurry of infringement suits in the music world, including a landmark verdict last year in favor of Gaye's heirs who sued over separate songs.

Ed Sheeran 
The latest case was filed not by Gaye's family but by the descendants of the late Ed Townsend, who wrote the steamy 1973 hit with the soul singer and held the copyright.

"The melodic, harmonic and rhythmic compositions of 'Thinking' are substantially and/or strikingly similar to the drum composition from  ..

 The lawyer in this case is the same one who emerged victorious in the lawsuit against Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke, in another copyright case stating their already controversial hit, “Blurred Lines” ripped off a song by, you guessed it, Marvin Gaye.

Sheeran has yet to publicly comment possibly because as he himself would put it, “Maybe it’s all part of a plan.”
