BHR Hollywood Reports...........The series’ creators, Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, asked a US District Court in Michigan to toss a suit brought by Sophia Eggleston — who claims the show is based on her memoir, “The Hidden Hand.”

Daniels and Strong’s lawyers argued that the Michigan federal court where Eggleston’s suing them doesn’t have jurisdiction over the Hollywood heavyweights, who live in New York and Los Angeles.

A Michigan U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg tossed a motion filed by Daniels and Strong that sought to put an end to Sophia Eggleston's suit, which claims that Taraji P. Henson's character was stolen from her autobiography, The Hidden Hand.

The "Empire" creators, who live in New York and Los Angeles, argued that the lawsuit had no jurisdiction on them, and asked the judge to throw the case out. Unfortunately for them, Judge Berg allowed the lawsuit to go forward in the deposition phase.

dollars," after she says a screenwriter she met with about developing a script about her life, took the book and show idea to Daniels.

The 53-year-old said in the suit that she was a “drug kingpin” who did jail time for manslaughter for placing a “hit” on a man and later penned her memoir about her “early drug lifestyle.” Her life story, she argues, is eerily similar to Cookie Lyon's.

“The whole city’s been telling me Cookie is basically me. Any jury would rule for me," she said.
