He also released his collaborative album with Tyga, Fan of a Fan: The Album earlier this year, which debuted at No. 7 (51,000). Prior to that, his 2014 album X debuted at No. 2 with 145,000 copies sold.
On the Billboard 200, Royalty is No. 3 with 184,000 album equivalent units, his sixth album to hit the chart's top five.
Brown wasn't the only major debut on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Swooping in at No. 3 is King Push, the sophomore full-length from Pusha T.
The album, which sells 39,000 copies, follows 2013's My Name Is My Name, a No. 2-peaking record with 75,000 first-week copies sold.
Then there's Monica, whose Code Red debuts at No. 4 with 34,000 sold. It's the R&B veteran's sixth to chart within the top five and the follow-up to 2012's New Life, which peaked at No. 2 (a 69,000 sales start).
She notched two No. 1s on the list: 2006's The Makings of Me (93,000) and 2010's Still Standing (184,000).
This Is Chris Brown's 8th album that has reached the charts for top 10.
