Former Georgia Tech Player "Jesse Tarplin" Killed In A Fulton County Accident

What Cause This Accident?

BHR Hollywood Reports...........Officials have confirmed that the officer that died in a Fulton County accident Saturday afternoon is a former player for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

A MARTA spokesperson identified the victim as 38-year-old Jesse Tarplin - an 11-year veteran of the department.

A Decatur, Georgia, native, Tarplin was killed in a car crash on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, near Murray Brothers Funeral Home, which is located on Utoy Springs Road, near Cascade.

An 11-year veteran of the MARTA Police Department, Tarplin, 38, was leading a funeral procession, while off-duty on his personal motorcycle.


The crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. and Tarplin was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Tarplin was a graduate of Cross Keys High School and played football for Georgia Tech from 1995-98.

 He started at defensive end for two years and earned second-team All-ACC honors as a senior, according to the Georgia Tech.

He leaves to his memory two sons, three daughters and his wife who is currently six months pregnant.
