Singer Chris Brown Is Being Sued For A Night Club Shooting That Happened Back In January |
Paul Briley has filed a lawsuit against Brown and California's Fiesta Nightclub for negligence in relation to a shooting on Jan. 10 that left five attendees with at least one gunshot wound each.
Brown had been performing at the nightclub for a VIP birthday event.

Briley, 22, argues that the club should have had proper security measures in place, such as metal detectors and searching “bags and/or guns,” due to similar incidents at events hosted by Brown.
“This shooting should never have happened,” Briley’s attorney, Richard Alexander, said in a statement.
“Brown’s managers and the concert promoters know that violence follows in Brown's wake.”

None of the shooting victims sustained life-threatening injuries, however Briley suffered “permanent injury” to his foot, the suit claims.
Brown's camp is calling the lawsuit "frivolous" and say they're working to have the claim dismissed.

"However, this is a completely frivolous lawsuit.
We expect that the case will be dismissed and in future, to avoid these reoccurring meritless lawsuits directed at Chris Brown, we plan to seek damages from all parties and their lawyers."
Brown has yet to publicly speak on the lawsuit.
