The R&B Singer explains on her blog how she preferred dressing like a tomboy when she was younger to deflect unwanted attention from men.

"I chose to hide. Pieces at a time. Less trouble that way," she says.

If you knew Alicia back when she use to work for soso def in Atlanta rumors were flying around that she was gay and when she became famous, she changed her look. "I put on dresses and didn't braid my whole head up, so people could see more of the 'real' me, even though at that point I'm sure I was more confused then ever of what the real me was," she reveals.

Alicia still have though of not wanting all that attention from men and when I go pick up [my son] Egy, or head to the store, or go shopping, or visit a friend etc," she writes.
