After Being Convicted Of Assault

BHR Hollywood Reports.........Naomi Campbell was convicted of assault by a Sicilian court Friday for scratching a paparazzo's eye in August 2009.

The model was given a six months suspended prison sentence, according to Britain's Telegraph, which her lawyer has vowed to appeal.

"We are appealing the ruling surrounding the 2009 incident," attorney Guido Carlo Alleva said.

Campbell allegedly lost her temper and swung her purse at Di Giovanni, scratching his eye and leaving him in need of medical treatment.

The model's attorney managed to reach a settlement with the snapper, who agreed to drop the charges against Campbell.

But prosecutor Francesco Massara decided to press ahead with the case, insisting it was in the public interest to pursue the counts.
