He has held every enlisted leadership position from Team Chief to Command Sergeant Major. His assignments include Fort Gordon, Georgia; Camp Carroll, Korea; Fort Hood, Texas; Darmstadt, Germany; Camp Colbern, Korea; Fort Benning, Georgia; Camp Walker, Korea; Command Sergeant Major, 36th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade, Camp Walker Korea.

He is currently serving as the Operations Sergeant Major, 160th Signal Brigade, Bagram, Afghanistan.

SGM Gary has served in the United States Army for more than 25 years. His plans are to retire from the US Army after completing 32 years of Active Federal Service.
