BHR Hollywood Reports.......Dylann Roof has been charged with nine counts of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime in this week’s shooting at a historic black church in Charleston, S.C., police tweeted Friday.

 Dylann Roof has confessed to authorities to shooting and killing nine people this week at a historically black church in Charleston, S.C., two law enforcement officials said Friday.

One of the officials said that Roof, who is white, told investigators that he wanted to start a race war.

Dylann Has been charged with nine counts of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to the Charleston Police Department.

He spent Thursday night in protective custody and on suicide watch at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in North Charleston, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Roof is permitted to have visitors, but no one has come to see him, the Sheriff's Office said today.

Roof, who was apprehended Thursday morning, is scheduled to appear at a bond hearing at 2 p.m. today, although he's ineligible, by state law.

He has been assigned public defender Ashley Pennington.
