BHR Hollywood Reports.........Chris Rock might soon discover it's 'cheaper to keep her' as he moves forward with his divorce from Malaak Compton-Rock.

 Page Six reports the comedian's estranged wife is going after his $70 million fortune that the couple once shared.

Rock, who filed for divorce in December 2014, has already agreed to joint custody of their kids (Lola Simone, 13, and Zahra Savannah, 11), but is fighting off Compton-Rock's demand for a "huge chunk" of his money.

According to court documents, Compton-Rock believes she deserves a payout "commensurate with the marital standard of living" because of her child-rearing and charitable efforts.

The pair married in 1996 after meeting at the Essence Awards while she was working in public relations.

Compton-Rock says she left the field to become a stay-at-home mom, meaning she's banking on the payout to keep her luxury lifestyle afloat.
