West Baltimore's Empowerment Temple announced Tuesday that Vanzant was invited to the city for a "healing service" with the help of Rev. Jamal Harrison Bryant.
He notes that the death of Freddie Gray-- the 25-year-old Baltimore man who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in police custody-- "pulled off the Bandaid for something that required open heart surgery."
