BHR Hollywood Reports......Comedian Hannibal Buress might have gotten more than he bargained for while dishing jokes on Bill Cosby and his alleged history of sexual assault.

 The "Broad City" star says he's received death threats since the controversy blew up.

While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week, the Chicago native made light of the situation, claiming he's received alarming messages since exposing Cosby as a rapist.

"It's definitely a weird situation," Buress said. "I get a lot of messages from people about it. You know, the weirdest thing about getting a death threat from a male bodybuilder.

He continued, "Then having to hit your friend up and say, 'Hey man, can you tell your buddy to stop saying that he's gonna murder me?

' I didn't really think he was gonna kill me, I'd just rather not take that information into my head if I didn't have to."

Buress blew the top off the scandal during a performance in Philadelphia last year when he mentioned the sexual assault claims against Cosby from years ago.

Video of Buress' bit went viral and new attention was brought to the matter as more than two dozen women came forward with new allegations.

Cosby has never been formally charged with sexual assault, but is currently involved in a defamation lawsuit from three accusers.
