Chris Brown didn't take plea deal in his assault Case

BHR HollyWood Reports........It looks like Chris Brown‘s legal problems won’t be resolved anytime soon. On Wednesday (June 25), the embattled R&B superstar rejected a plea deal from prosecutors in connection with an assault charge stemming from a fight outside of a W Hotel in Washington, D.C.

According to the Associated Press, Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, and prosecutor Kevin Chambers were in talks for hours before the hearing but they fell apart. Both attorneys couldn’t agree on what the singer would admit to in court regarding the attack outside of the D.C.-area hotel.

This is the second time Brown has rejected a plea deal. In January, the ‘Loyal’ singer rejected an initial deal offered by prosecutors in the case.

“They wanted him to read from a script that wasn’t true,” Geragos said after the hearing. He then added, “If they want a trial, that’s what they’ll get.”

Brown was in court but remained silent during the hearing. Also in court was his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, who was charged in the same fight. He’s accused of assaulting Parker Adams, the man who tried to take a selfie with Brown and two other women before the attack began. Hollosy was convicted of misdemeanor assault in April but has not been sentenced.

Brown’s lawyer wants Hollosy to testify at the singer’s trial. He’s expected to say that he was the one who hit Adams, not Brown.

Geragos also has new evidence they he wants to present to the court at the next hearing, which has been scheduled for Sept 8.
