BHR HollyWood Reports........The nephew of rap star Raymond “Benzino” Scott was acting in self-defense when he fired a gun at his uncle on Route 3 in Duxbury during the funeral procession for Scott’s mother, a defense attorney said this morning.

Gai Scott appeared in Plymouth District Court for arraignment on a charge of armed assault with intent to murder, and was held on no bail pending a dangerousness hearing Wednesday.

“It’s very early in the game, but when the dust settles with respect to this case, it’s going to be abundantly clear that Mr. Scott, a licensed gun owner, was acting in self-defense and in defense of his family,” said Jon Ciraulo, Gai Scott’s attorney, following the arraignment.

Gai Scott looked nonplussed and nodded as a judge gave him instructions during a brief court appearance.


Raymond Scott continues to recover from a bullet wound to his arm suffered in the Saturday incident.
