Unless you're the staff at the La Scala restaurant who reportedly faced Miss Ross's wrath when they refused to let her sit where she wanted.

The Motown great met her daughter at the eatery in Beverly Hills last week but was unaware that the restaurant has a rule that states that patrons can only sit when the whole group has arrived.

The New York Post reported that Diana, 68, is believed to have turned up first for her lunch date and decided to sit at any old table after being told she would have to wait for her booked one.

But, according to sources, she was informed that she wouldn't be served if she stayed in the booth but she refused to move and waited for her daughter to arrive.

After an alleged row with staff and management, Diana and her daughter left, much to the dismay of the owner Gigi Leon, who told the newspaper that she and her staff love having her as one of their customers and hoped she would return.

But then she added: "I'm sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn't apply to her. Our policy is that we don't sit incomplete parties. If people jump the line, our policy is we don't serve them, and she was told that. We treat everyone the same whether you're famous or not."
Diana's management or representative have yet to comment.
