Taking Tips From Jay-Z? Lil Wayne Announces 'Tha Carter V' Is Final Album Before Retiring From Rap

BHR HollyWood Reports Possibly taking heed of Jay-Z's publicity stunt in 2003 when he announced his 'retirement', Lil Wayne says he is hanging up the mic and leaving the rap game after the release of Tha Carter V.

The Young Money boss is currently working on his tenth studio album I Am Not A Human Being II and will release fifth installment of Tha Carter series after. Revealing what fans can expect from his next record, Wayne told MTV News: "It's like a Carter V".

When asked why he doesn't just retitle Human Being II as part of the Carter series, Wayne replied: "Because I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album. Man, I've been rappin' since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time, man."

The 'She Will' rapper admits that he occasionally loses his passion for music, which is why he focuses on other projects such as his Trukfit skating clothing line.

"When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that 'it," he explained.

"I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I'm 30 now. Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum. To just keep it goin' like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."

Perhaps Wayne re-evaluated his hectic schedule after suffering two seizures in October. The 30-year-old was travelling on a plane when he had a 'fit-like' episode, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.

When he suffered a similar incident just a couple of days later, Wayne was treated at an Atlanta hospital and given a temporary flying ban by doctors.

Do you think Wayne will really retire from rap?
