BHR HollyWood Reports  Sparks has revealed that she and boyfriend Jason Derulo are taking their relationship very seriously, and have been discussing the prospect of marriage.

The loved-up musical couple - who have been dating for a year - haven't been shy in expressing their feelings for one another, and are now keen to make their romance official.

However Sparks has admitted that the couple's priorities shifted after they took some time to reflect on the year's events.

''It's not a conversation that we're scared about,'' the former American Idol winner told US Weekly.

''Before, we both went through tragedies this year - he broke his neck and then (Sparkle co-star) Whitney (Houston) passed - so before it might have been a little too crazy.''

''You really see the people you love and you go, I don't want to lose you. So, it's a conversation we have, but we're not in a rush," the 22-year-old continued.

Although it may be a little while before wedding bells ring for the pair, Sparks says she'll be thrilled whenever her 23-year-old R&B crooner beau puts a ring on it.

''I hope he does!'' Sparks exclaimed. ''It's not happening yet, but I hope so!''
