Nicki Minaj Admits She Was Inspired By Jordin Sparks

BHR HollyWood Report Nicki Minaj has admitted to being inspired by former American Idol winners, branding former Idol star Jordin Sparks as a part of the shows history.

Speaking during a press conference following the announcement of her joining the hit US talent show, the 'Superbass' rapper explained how she was inspired by former Idol contestants Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks who are part of the show's history.

"I told her that 'you know you're a part of history, kind of. Because I remember calling and seeing your face and being inspired,'" the 29-year-old recalled.

Admitting to not voting for the 'No Air' singer, the Idol judge remembered how inspired she was by the talent on the show.

"My little brother was more obsessed over the Blake person because he was like, more, you know, hip-hop," she said.

"I spoketo Jordin Sparks the other day and there she is starring in a movie [Sparkle] and I said to her, 'I remember watching you and picking up my phone.'"

Rumoured to be feuding with fellow judge, Mariah Carey, the 'Starships' hitmaker couldn't of sounded more happier to be a part of the show that inspired her to be where she is today.
