BHR HollyWood Report It was always going to be the showdown of the divas with Micki Minaj and Mariah Carey sharing the judging panel of American Idol.

However, most didn't expect the fireworks to start kicking off just a few days into filming for the musical talent show.

During the opening show of the 12th season in New York, the disdain felt by both women for one another came to head when Mariah interrupted Nicki several times while she gave her critics to contestants.

Not one to back down, the Young Money rapper gave as good as the 'Triumphant' songstress and simply raised her voice, talking over the soul legend.

A source from American Idol informed TMZ that there dislike for each other was crystal clear for everyone to see, adding: "These girls just don't like each other."
