He's Ready To Quit The Rap Game!!!! Snoop Dogg Changes His Name To 'Snoop Lion' After Jamaican Trip

BHR HollyWood Reports Snoog Dogg has now traded his famous moniker for 'Snoop Lion', after being inspired by a spiritual trip to Jamaica.
The 40-year-old, real name Calvin Broadus, Jr., decided on the name change after an encounter with Rastafarian priests at a temple, who reportedly inspired the decision.
"I went to the temple, where the high priest asked me what my name was, and I said, 'Snoop Dogg'," Snoop told journalists on Tuesday.

"And he looked me in my eyes and said: 'No more. You are the light. You are the lion.' From that moment on, it's like I had started to understand why I was there."

The 'Drop It Like Its Hot' hitmaker also claims to be the reincarnation of reggae legend Bob Marley, after telling journalists that he was 'born again,' and was reportedly blessed by Marley's son Rohan, who also attended the conference.

''I feel like I've always been Rastafarian,'' Snoop said of the spiritual Jamaican movement.

And it seems his name isn't the only thing he's changing - he's reportedly changing his genre of music too.
The West Coast rapper is now embracing reggae, and although he won't be retiring from hip-hop completely, he said that he is tired of the genre but he no longer finds it challenging.

''Reggae was calling ... it's a breath of fresh air,'' he said.
''Rap isn't challenging; it's not appealing.''

Snoop is now ready to make music that his ''kids and grandparents can listen to,'' and is consequently releasing a reggae album called Reincarnated in the Autumn.  I'm Big Blac This is Your BHR HollyWood Report
