Chris Rock Slammed Over Fourth Of July 'Slave' Comments Did He Go Too Far?

Chris Rock has been slammed for a comment he made on the US' Independence Day On Twitter related to black people and slavery.

The What To Expect When You're Expectingactor and comedian joined the rest of celeb world in tweeting a Happy Fourth of July to his Twitter followers.

"Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks," Chris wrote. Many felt Chris wasn't being patriotic and took to Twitter in their droves to let him know they were boycotting his future projects.

"Good one! I bet your Guatemalan house staff got a good chuckle," David Burge wrote.

"Slavery existed for 2000yrs before America. We eradicated it in 100yrs. We now have a black POTUS. ‪#Go (expletive) Yourself," Jeff Schreiber, managing editor of libertarian-conservative blog America's Right weighed in.

Chris was supported by some his fellow actors including Don Cheadle, who simply wrote: "Haha," before adding: "Where exactly is the bigotry in that joke? Who is the victim? 18th century whites?"

Former Scrubs star Zach Braff also said: "Slaves weren’t freed for another 90 years. So maybe just enjoy some of the fireworks." Chris is yet to comment on the backlash.   I'm Big Blac this is your BHR HollyWood Reports
