Idris Elba has revealed life working on cult crime epic The Wire was pretty laid back - if the cameras weren't rolling, the weed definitely was.

Elba, who played iconic drug dealer/businessman Russell "Stringer" Bell has joined the rest of the cast and crew of the show in celebrating the show's ten year anniversary and remembering life on set.

Speaking to Maxim magazine, the British star recalled how the actors passed time during breaks between filming on location in Baltimore, Maryland, admitting: "We smoked a lot of good weed, did a lot of strip clubs. A lot of that."

Michael B. Jordan, who played Wallace, also recalls being taken to strip clubs by Elba, and co-stars Wendell Pierce (William 'Bunk' Moreland) and Clarke Peters (Lester Freamon) - despite only being 14 at the time.

"I kind of grew up around Idris and Wendell and Clarke and everybody. I would just tag along, going to strip clubs," he told the magazine, adding: "I became a man in Baltimore with those guys." I'm Big Blac this is your BHR HollyWood Report
