The officer said he smelled alcohol and burnt marijuana coming from the car. Smith failed a field sobriety test and police arrested him, according to the report.
Police gave Smith a breathalyzer test at the police station. He registered a .143 blood-alcohol content. The legal limit is .08.
Officers also found two rolled cigarettes that contained marijuana in Smith's car, the report says.
Smith denied drinking during the traffic stop.
He was cited for drunken driving, improper display of license plates and possession of marijuana, police said. Smith was later released to his girlfriend.
Smith graduated from Glenville High School in 2002, and played four seasons for Ohio State from 2003 to 2006. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2006.
