A Cover Of Her Late Father's 1972 Classic, “Little Ghetto Boy"
BHR Hollywood Reports.......Keeping in mind the notion that “art imitates life,” soul singer Lalah Hathaway sets out to tackle one of today’s most poignant issues affecting people of color for her new album.

“What is amazing is ‘Little Ghetto Boy’ is as poignant now as the day it was written," shared Hathaway.

"The truth of the song rings the same today as it did forty years ago.

The fact that I can deliver this truth with the same conviction my father felt all those years ago is extraordinary.

The sentiment captured in this visual will never not be real and never not be now. It’s real, fresh, and it’s powerful. It’s reality.”

Along with the song's release, the jazz-soul songstress has released an accompanying video that includes cameos from comedian/actor, Affion Crockett, singer, Rahsaan Patterson, and Snoop Dogg.

The cover's release has also ushered in a social media campaign, encouraging fans to submit music, poetry, sculptures, paintings, and photos inspired by the song's theme, using the hashtags #LittleGhettoBoy and #LittleGhettoBoyArt to Lalah’s Tumblr page.

"Little Ghetto Boy" comes as the two-time Grammy award winner gears up to release her first ever live album, Lalah Hathaway LIVE!  on October 30.
