Hamilton was found Sunday after he was fatally shot in a house in Pearland.
He had worked for the MLB Network since 2013.
Authorities in Pearland, Texas, say they found Hamilton’s body, along with the body of his girlfriend, Monica Jordan, in the home they shared around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, June 21.
Police were initially called to the residence because of a reported disturbance but discovered the bodies — Hamilton’s near the front door, and Jordan’s in a different part of the house.
Police say Jordan died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hamilton was reportedly shot numerous times.
According to Reports, the home belonged to Jordan. She and Hamilton had a 14-month-old baby, who was in the house at the time of the incident, but not hurt.
The child is in the care of Texas Child Protective Services.
In 2008, Jordan was involved in an incident where she allegedly burned down the home she shared with her then-husband, whom she suspected of cheating.
She later pleaded guilty to felony arson.
Darryl Hamilton, who was married to “Access Hollywood” anchor Shaun Robinson in the early ’90s, played for five teams during his 13-year career.
In 1997 he had the distinction of being the first player to have a hit in a regular season interleague game. He went on to become a well-respected MLB network on-air analyst.
