Rihanna Matches Madonna With 12th U.S. No.1 Single

BHR HollyWood Reports It’s been a funny old week for Rihanna with her ambitious 777 tour grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons, but there has been some good news waiting for her at the end of her whirlwind tour: she’s just gone to top of the U.S. charts for the 12th time, equaling Madonna’s record.

‘Diamonds’ hit the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, knocking Maroon 5’s ‘One More Night’ to two.

This means that RiRi is equal with The Supreme as well as Madge on the list of legendary chart-toppers and she’s in joint fourth position for the most chart-toppers in US Hot 100 history.

The 24-year-old scored her first number one way back in 2006 with ‘SOS’ and has barely left the charts since.

RiRi has also beaten Mariah Carey's record for gaining 12 number one singles in the shortest period as a solo female artist.

Other stars in the all-time chart include Carey, The Beatles and Michael Jackson, so despite her tardy ways and well-documented diva behavior the star is clearly doing something right!
