Former Georgia State Rep. Tyrone Brooks Has Pleaded Guilty To Tax, Mail, And Wire Fraud |
Tyrone Brooks, an Atlanta Democrat, pleaded guilty in April to one count of filing a false tax document and no contest to five counts of mail and wire fraud.
Brooks told U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg on Friday he should have used proper accounting.

Totenberg said she needed the weekend to think about the case and would sentence Brooks on Monday.
Brooks has been sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison.
The longtime state lawmaker resigned his seat earlier this year after pleading guilty to a count of filing a false tax document and no contest to five counts of mail and wire fraud.
