BHR Hollywood Reports............Twenty-three-year-old New Orleans Pelicans player Bryce Dejean-Jones was fatally shot in Dallas early Saturday after accidentally entering the wrong apartment.

The Chicago native, who played as a rookie guard for the Pelicans, was in Texas to visit his girlfriend for his daughter’s first birthday, said his agent, Scott Nichols, the report says.

This was the first time Dejean-Jones visited her new apartment, Nichols said. Later that night Dejean-Jones came back to the apartment complex but went to the wrong unit on the third floor, just below his girlfriend’s fourth-floor apartment, Nichols said.

The Pelicans mourned the loss, statement, releasing a statement, saying: “We are devastated at the loss of this young man’s life who had such a promising future ahead of him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bryce’s family during this difficult time.”

At this stage no one has been arrested and it is not clear if the man who shot Dejean-Jones will face charges.

Police said Dejean-Jones is not believed have been armed or to have known the man who lived in the apartment. Dallas homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
