Will Smith Has Joined His Wife To Boycott The Oscar Awards !!

BHR Hollywood Reports...........Will Smith says he’ll be skipping the ceremony altogether and Mark Ruffalo, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Spotlight, may follow suit.

Smith revealed his decision on Good Morning America .

While he was complimentary of the nominees, Smith explained why he’d be sitting out this year’s Academy Awards:

Debate has increased around the issue, particularly whether the Oscars are the trees and, perhaps, the studio system and lack of diversity among executives is the forest.

For his part, Smith is focused on what's in front of him at the moment, which is the upcoming Academy Awards (hosted by Chris Rock, who has been asked to not host by Tyrese and others).

"I think I have to protect and fight for the ideals that make our country and make our Hollywood community great," he explained.

"So when I look at the series of nominations of the Academy, it's not reflecting that beauty."
