The tennis champion was awarded WTA Player of the Year for the seventh time in her career on Tuesday.
Williams was ranked No. 1 throughout 2015, going 53-3 with a WTA-high five titles, including three at major tournaments — Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon.
Bidding for the Grand Slam, she lost in the semifinals of the U.S. Open to Roberta Vinci.
Her older sister Venus was Comeback Player of the Year.
In other honors voted on by media and fans, Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza were Doubles Team of the Year, and Daria Gavrilova was Newcomer of the Year.
For four consecutive years, Williams has been voted as the POY by the World Tennis Association for the top coveted accolade.
Williams had an record-setting and breaking year in sports. She was ranked No. 1 during 2015 and scored three major tournament wins—the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
Williams was on track for a calendar Grand Slam year before losing to Roberta Vinci during the U.S. Open in September.
Other WTA winners included Serena's older sister, Venus, who was recognized as Comeback Player of the Year.
