SGM Jerry Gary Serves and Lead Our Military With Honor and we Salute You
 BHR HollyWood Reports...........SGM Jerry D. Gary was born in Columbus,Georgia and grew up in Phenix City Al and graduated from Central High School in 89.

He entered the US Army in September 1989 and completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC. He completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 31L, Wire Systems Installer.

He has held every enlisted leadership position from Team Chief to Command Sergeant Major. His assignments include Fort Gordon,  Georgia; Camp Carroll, Korea; Fort Hood, Texas; Darmstadt, Germany; Camp Colbern, Korea; Fort Benning, Georgia; Camp Walker, Korea; Command Sergeant Major, 36th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade, Camp Walker Korea.

He is currently serving as the Operations Sergeant Major, 160th Signal Brigade, Bagram, Afghanistan.

His combat experience include: Operation Desert Shield/Storm Southwest Asia (1990); Operation Iraqi Freedom III, FOB Warhorse, Iraq (2005); Operation Iraqi Freedom V, FOB Hammer Iraq, (2007); Operation Iraqi Freedom VII, FOB Kalsu, Iraq, (2009); Operation Enduring Freedom/Resolute Support, Bagram, Afghanistan, (2015).

His military and civilian education include the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-commissioned Officers Course, Advanced Non-commissioned Officers Course, Basic Instructor Training Course and the Equal Opportunity Leader Course.

He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class #64. He holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science – Admin/MGMT Studies from Excelsior College, Fort Bliss, Texas. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business (Operations Management) from Excelsior College.

His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal (2), the Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Army Commendation Medal (4), the Army Achievement Medal (4), the Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), the National Defense Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), the Korean Defense
Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal (3 Bronze Stars), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon ( with numeral 4), the Army Service Medal, the Overseas Ribbon (with Numeral 8),the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudia Arabia), the Kuwait Liberation Medal ( Government of Kuwait) and the Drivers/Mechanics Badge.

SGM Gary has served in the United States Army for more than 25 years. His plans are to retire from the US Army after completing 32 years of Active Federal Service.
