BHR Hollywood Reports........ It looks like the ladies of “R&B Divas Atlanta” wont’ be back for an encore.

The Divas have been in danger of not returning to the screen since this fall. But the matter became official when the network’s president Brad Siegel attended a press tour last week at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles.

During the event, Siegel did not present “R&B Divas Atlanta” as one of the network’s returning series.

Sources also reported that cast members received notification this week that the show was canceled.

Sources close to the production told Reporters that there were several reasons why the show, that once broke records for the network, ended.

There were apparently casting challenges, TV One wanted to decrease the production budget, and the network and the show’s executive producers–which at one point included Nicci Gilbert and Faith Evans– could not come to terms.

Then there was the litigation between Nicci Gilbert and the network because of “Hollywood Divas.” Gilbert claimed that since the show was being marketed as a spinoff of “R&B Divas,” both she and
Faith Evans should have been compensated.

Gilbert filed 15 counts against the network, including breach of contract, defamation, fraudulent misrepresentation and emotional distress.

She is also hoping to collect punitive damages and attorney’s fees.

Perhaps TV One felt it wasn’t worth the headache to keep working with Gilbert as an executive producer on this show. But if that’s the case it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the L.A. franchise of R&B Divas and “Hollywood Divas” as well.
