Oprah Winfrey Teams Up With Tyler Perry To Bring Sitcoms To OWN Network


BHR HollyWood Report Oprah has teamed up with Tyler Perry on her OWN network to make scripted shows to air on the channel.


The Next Chapter series host has struck a deal with the ‘Why Did I Get Married’ director to produce for now two exclusive scripted shows for the channel.

“I have been looking forward to the day when we would be in the position to enter the world of scripted televison,” said Oprah in a press statement.

“That day has come,” she added.

Boasting a collection of hit shows like Oprah's Lifeclass, Iyanla Fix My Life and the profilic Next Chapter series, the network has had a boost in ratings in the past few months.

Working with the maker of hit series PBS owned Meet The Browns and films 'Why Did I Get Married', the exclusive partnership with Tyler Perry is set to take the network into its next phase of growth.
