Russell Simmons Puts New York Penthouse On Market For $11 Million

BHR HollyWood Report Russell Simmons has put his high-priced New York penthouse back on sale for $11 million, nearly eight years after purchasing the property.

The 54-year-old mogul used to share the penthouse with his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, and has put the property back on the housing market for $11 million with 1% tax after failing to secure a buyer back in 2005.

Once home to the Def Jam founder in 2001, the penthouse was left badly damaged in 2001 by the falling of the Twin Towers on September 11 in that year.

According to Curbed, the Manhattan skyline abode was nearly bought by fellow hip-hop mogul P. Diddy but fell through because of the damage from the twin towers.

After its renovation in 2005, the luxurious penthouse boasts 12-foot ceilings, a kitchen, four bedrooms and bathrooms in addition to a bathroom and library.

Hopefully Russell will have better luck shifting this house this time!
