Is This Really True? Usher Being Sued Over 'Copied' Version Of Hit Single 'Caught Up'

BHR HollyWood Report A copyright lawsuit against Usher has been filed by a group of songwriters for his hit single 'Caught Up'.

Songwriters Zacharia Edwards, Mitch Moses and Vine Mclean have launched a case against the 'Yeah' singer, claimIng that their version of 'Caught Up' has major similiarities with the Confessions hit single.

Detals of the lawsuit reads, "An ordinary lay observer could listen to the two musical compositions at issues, and given the theme, melody, hook, lyrics and chrous, reasonably find that the two songs are substantially similar...infringement has occured."

In their case, the songwriters claimed that they had met with the director of A&R at Arista Records in 2002 to play the song for producers LA.Reid and Mark Pitts.
