He Steps Up!!! Akon Files Papers To Be Recognised As Father Of His Two Sons

BHR HollyWood Report Akon has filed paternity papers to make sure he is legally recognised as the father of his two sons.

According to TMZ, the 'Lonely' hitmaker filed court documents last month requesting that he becomes the legal dad of the two children he fathered following a romance with Ugandan Susan Owori while on tour in Africa.

"Akon has been a father to the boys since they were born and this is just a neccesary step to make sure he is legally recognised as such," said a source close to the star.

The 39-year-old has also filed for joint custody of the two children born in 2008 and 2009 so that he can have a role in their life and provide child support.

Requesting that the boys keep his surname, Thiam, the rapper also requested that his two sons be eligible to inherit from him and be protected from the media.
