Jay-Z Slaps Former 40/40 Chef With $1.5 Million Lawsuit

BHR HollyWood Reports Jay-Z's nightclub 40/40 has filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against a chef who they say failed to fulfill his duties when he was hired earlier in the year.

According to the NYPost, Jay-Z had hired Mike Shand to run the kitchen of his plush New York City sports bar after being impressed by his cooking on his 'Watch The Throne' tour with Kanye West.

However, court papers claim Shand "failed to perform on significant aspects" of the deal to spice up the bar's menu. Shand's actions are said to have cost the club lost profits, loss of good will [and] alienation of clientele."

"The club has not been able to adequately replace the items and services defendant was paid to provide," the suit adds.

While Shand has not personally responded to the lawsuit, his lawyer Vik Pawar said: "Mike’s a great chef, and it is unclear why 40/40 would contemplate a lawsuit against him. Nevertheless, we will respond accordingly when he gets served with the complaint." I'm Big Blac This Is Your BHR HollyWood Report
